Arthur Clarke, maestro of science fiction, became well-known to millions of cinema-goers throughout the world with the showing of the film 2001. Famous for his predictions about space exploration – he predicted the use of earth satellites many years before they became a fact – his fiction has always combined scientific accuracy and a most exciting story.

Contained in this one volume, complete and unabridged, are four of his most popular novels: The City and the Stars, The Deep Range, A Fall of Moondust and Rendezvous with Rama. Here is science fiction at its very best.

Arthur C. Clarke was born in Somerset, England. A fellow of the Royal Astronomical Society, he is a past chairman of the British Interplanetary Society. He is author of some fifty books, which have been translated into over thirty languages, and co-author with Stanley Kubrick of the screenplay of 2001: A Space Odyssey. Although he now lives in Sri Lanka, and delights in diving for the treasure buried in the wrecks which dot the island's reefs, he is still very much involved in the future of space travel and in the implications for mankind of scientific and technical developments.
