Publisher's Blurb
When Womplers Walking Babies bite the dust (commercially speaking) the Wompler Toy Corporation decides to strike it rich at the expense of the US Government, putting in for a massive research grant to develop a self- reproducing machine. It’s easy to get the grant, and not so difficult to make the machine. The trouble starts when the little grey boxes, feeding on any metal they can find and drinking from the power supplies, get out of hand.

JOHN SLADEK has long been recognized as a leading satirist whose brilliant inventiveness demolishes the institutions and conventions of 20th century life and literature. His novels and short story collections include Tik-Tok, Roderick, and The Lunatics of Terra. He lives in Minneapolis and The Reproductive System was his first novel.
